How to share Wi-Fi Password from Apple Device

Requirements

  1. Unlock both devices.
  2. Both devices should be running the latest OS version.
  3. Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both devices.
  4. Switch off the Personal hotspot.
  5. Sign in both devices to iCloud using Apple ID.
  6. ***IMPORTANT*** Ensure both you and the receiver have saved each other’s Apple ID in contacts.
  7. Keep both devices next to each other.

Share Wi-Fi password from iPhone or iPad to Apple Device

  1. Connect your iPhone to a Wi-Fi network.
  2. Now, connect the other iPhone or Mac to the same Wi-Fi network.
    1. You will see a prompt on your iPhone.
  3. Tap Share Password.
    1. The password will get auto filled on their iPhone/iPad/Mac.
  4. Now, tap Join to connect to the network.
    1. Most of the time, this step takes place automatically.

Share Wi-Fi password from iPhone or iPad to Android and vice versa

There is no standard way to share Wi-Fi passwords between an Apple device and an Android. However, there are several work arounds that both Apple and Android have put in place to allow this.
