Outlook 365 Phone Setup

Notes
For those who have a town issued phone, below are instructions on how to set up your new Office 365 email on your phone.

Alert
If you do not have a town issued smartphone and would like to do this, please consult your supervisor first.
  1. Make sure your phone is on the latest software version
    1. For iPhone
      1. Settings
      2. General
      3. Software Update
    2. Android
      1. Similar to the iPhone, but varies by device
  2. If you were using the default mail app on your phone, you are going to want to download the Outlook App
  3. If you have contacts stored on your account that you want in your phone (iPhone only)
    1. Settings
    2. Passwords & Accounts
      1. If you do not see this on the home screen, you will need to update your iPhone to the latest version
    3. Choose your Exchange Account
    4. Delete Account
    5. Delete from My iPhone
      1. Please do not choose to delete from all of my iPhones; it will fail
    6. Add Account
    7. Microsoft Exchange
    8. Type in your E-mail
    9. Tap on description, and it will fill in automatically
      1. Feel free to change if you want
    10. Sign In
      1. You no longer need to configure Manually
    11. Enter your password and Sign In
      1. If asked do you trust, say Continue
    12. Uncheck everything except Contacts
      1. DO NOT LEAVE MAIL CHECKED; we are going to end town support of the default mail app soon
      2. If you would like, you can leave Calendars checked, but we do not recommend
    13. Save
  4. Download the Outlook App (if you don’t already have)
    1. You can search in your respective App Store for “Outlook” or click one of the below links:
      1. iPhone = https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-outlook/id951937596
      2. Android = https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.outlook&hl=en_US
  5. If you already had the Outlook App:
    1. Open the app
    2. Settings (gear)
    3. Click Account
    4. Delete Account
    5. Delete
    6. Restart the App
  6. Log in to Outlook App
    1. Open the app
    2. Enter your e-mail address
    3. Add Account
    4. Enter your password
    5. Sign In
